PIPA has released an update to TN016 – Non-Destructive Testing of PE Welded Joints.
The rechnical note has been updated with a revised title and content to reflect the recent publication of ISO/ TS 24399 Thermoplastic pipes for the conveyance of fluids – Inspection of polyethylene butt fusion joints using time of flight diffraction testing.
The update aligns TN016 with emerging international developments relating to advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) methods for polyethylene (PE) butt fusion joints including the use of Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) testing techniques.
TN016 supports industry understanding of evolving inspection technologies and their application within PE pipeline systems.
