New Standard Published – AS/NZS 5395 Best Environmental Practice PVC Pipe and Fittings

A new standard AS/NZS 5395 Best Environmental Practice PVC Pipes and Fittings Standard has been published . Best environmental practice (BEP) PVC is a reliable, safer, and more environmentally friendly 🌏 way to produce PVC. This is the only standard worldwide specifically developed for PVC. It takes into account PVC’s whole supply chain from the production of PVC resin, use of additives, the manufacturer of finished goods through to end of life considerations.

Coinciding with this new standard, PIPA published today an updated companion Industry Guideline POP106 Verification Guidance for Best Environmental Practice PVC Pipe and Fittings. It provides an overview of Best Environmental Practice (BEP) for Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) pipes, conduits, profiles, and fittings and detailed information relevant to achieving and verifying BEP PVC for manufacturers and Conformity Assessment Bodies.

Playing a vital role in the circular economy PVC pipes and fittings make better use of resources, have closed loop resource flows and prevent waste and pollution through their design.

PVC pipe and fittings are safe for people and the planet.
