APGA and PIPA will hold a seminar in Brisbane to launch the latest version of the APGA Code of Practice for Upstream PE Gathering Networks in the CSG Industry.
The Code, developed by the APGA with support and input from PIPA, covers the design, construction and operation of CSG gathering networks and is referenced in Queensland legislation.
With the CSG industry entering its post-boom maturing phase in Queensland in an environment of intense government pressure regarding the cost and availability of gas, the industry’s ability to improve safety, operational and cost efficiency is crucial.
The upgrading of this Code of Practice to Version 5 provides the means for CSG Operating Companies to achieve this objective. At this seminar, you will hear from the designers of the revisions on the improvements made and the outcomes expected from these changes.
Committee members will explain how informed design, when applied by competent staff from experienced firms, can provide safer, faster and cheaper Infrastructure project outcomes, with enhanced community and social licence benefits.
The APGA CSG Seminar is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the Code from the experts and ensure your business is across the detail of the crucial information covered in Version 5.
V5 Code enhancements
The principal improvements in Version 5 of the Code are primarily safety focused:
alignment with recent AS 2885 HSEMS initiatives
- increased focus on verification of competencies for all involved parties
- use of water gathering networks for delivery of drilling water
- recognition of beneficial use of produced water
- enhancement of risk-based design approach
- provision for all-PE gathering network designs.
Collectively, these all support opportunities for improved integrated, fit-for-purpose, whole of life network designs, with schedule and safety improvements and enhanced social licence features.
This seminar will provide PIPA members with an interest in PE pipe and fittings, guidance to the requirements of CSG upstream gathering networks.
