We are excited to announce the official launch of the Plastic Pipes and the Circular Economy – An Australian Perspective Report — a landmark publication showcasing how Australia’s plastic pipe industry is already delivering practical, scalable circular solutions.
By embedding durability, longevity, and repairability into core design principles, the sector is demonstrating how circularity can move from ambition to real-world implementation across one of the nation’s most critical infrastructure systems.
Produced collaboratively by Circular Australia, PIPA, and the UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures, this edition brings forward new data, system insights, and operational pathways to support Australia’s transition to a circular economy by 2035.
Key highlights of the report include:
- Where circular design is already succeeding
- The highest-value interventions across the system
- How industry, government, and engineers can scale solutions through procurement, standards, and project delivery
The report provides a consolidated evidence base to guide decision-makers toward measurable, long-life, and future-ready infrastructure outcomes.
We extend our thanks to Lisa McLean (Circular Australia), Simran (UTS), and our Executive General Manager Cindy Bray, who presented and participated in the panel alongside experts Matthew Hynes (Iplex) and Karen Shaw (Bradfield Development Authority).
If you missed the webinar launch, don’t worry — the recording will be shared soon. In the meantime, you can download the report here.
