POP004 is an industry reference document that lists polyethylene (PE) pipe and fitting compounds evaluated against key Australian standards. It ensures that materials used in PE pressure pipes meet the requirements of:

AS/NZS 4131 – PE compounds for pressure pipes and fittings

AS/NZS 4130 – PE pipes for pressure applications, including stripes and jackets
The document includes standard PE 100 compounds as well as enhanced-performance materials such as:

Evaluations are based on a desktop review of documentation submitted by compound manufacturers and assessed by a technical panel. For PE 100 materials, ongoing testing is required to maintain listing and demonstrate continued compliance.
